International Baccalaureate Diploma
IB Coordinator: Tracy Arledge IB Counselor: Lisa Borgmann
The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) is based on achieving passing level scores in six areas: Foreign Language, English, Science, Social Studies, Math and Fine Arts. Students participate in a Theory of Knowledge class that develops analytical thinking. IB students are also involved in CAS (Creativity, Action, and Service) which is time spent in extracurricular and community service activities, requiring them to use their knowledge, creativity, and athletic ability. Students must also write an Extended Essay, approximately 4000 words, by fall of their senior year. Be sure to visit our IB area for more information!
College in Colorado
All GMMS students have a collegeincolorado.org account to use to build their ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan) portfolio, identify interests and how they match to careers, and explore post-secondary career and college opportunities. Feel free to contact Mrs. Hawkins or Mrs. Rutkowski if your student has forgotten their username and password. Parents are also able to set up an account and link to their students, if they wish.
